Head Teacher's Welcome
As Head Teacher of Southville Primary School, I am very pleased to welcome you to our website, and to our school.
This website is here for a number of different audiences - firstly for our families and our children, but also for our local community, any prospective parents and our friends and families abroad. We hope that for whatever reason you visit our site that you get a full flavour of what our school is all about, and find the information that you are looking for.
(Feedback is always welcome, you can email feedback to: Office@southville.hounslow.sch.uk)
Southville is a popular school, based in Feltham, London Borough of Hounslow. We opened in September 2018 following the amalgamation of Southville Infant and Nursery School and Southville Junior School. We have up to 720 pupils on role, aged between 3 and 11. It is a very special place that combines a hardworking, determined and aspirational ethos with a happy, friendly and fun atmosphere.
I have had the privilege of being associated with Southville for many years - I arrived as a teacher in the Infant and Nursery School in 1992, then as Deputy Head, and then Head Teacher of the Infant a Nursery School until 2018 when I was appointed as Head Teacher of the newly amalgamated primary school.
I am delighted and proud to be Head Teacher at such a fun and vibrant school where pupils, staff, governors, parents and the school community work extremely hard and have high expectations of one another. We are committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning – achieved through a combination of challenge, support, encouragement and praise – to ensure that all students fulfil their potential. Following our amalgamation, we are working hard to bring consistency throughout the entire school.
At Southville, you will find a welcoming and purposeful environment, with relationships built on mutual respect. Southville pupils develop skills for lifelong learning, in line with our motto – 'Learning today for the world of tomorrow’.
Achievement and a 'can do' attitude (based in the principles of Growth Mindset) are at the heart of our philosophy; we support this through encouraging independent thinking and learning and showing that mistakes can be a learning opportunity. We have a team of talented, hardworking and committed staff who are dedicated to doing the very best for all children.
We hope you enjoy exploring this website and finding out about our school. If you would like a tour, please contact the office and arrange an appointment; I am always happy to meet with potential parents and show them our school.
