Learning today for the world of tomorrow

Welcome to our school’s website

We are currently undergoing changes to our website, we're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Met Office has issued a Red Weather Warning for Monday & Tuesday next week. We therefore ask that you keep your children at home if able. Thank you

Dear parents / carers,

As you will be aware, the Met Office has issued a red weather warning for London and south east England for Monday and Tuesday next week. Temperatures are expected to reach 40 degrees mid-day.

We therefore ask parents to keep their children home on Monday and Tuesday as the school will not be able to maintain a reasonable temperature in the classrooms. Guidance advices that thermal comfort lies roughly between 13°C (56°F) and 30°C (86°F).

Activities for children to do at home will be put on Google Classroom by 10am on Monday morning.

Unfortunately this also means that we must cancel parents evening on Tuesday afternoon. Instead, Teachers will be uploading a video onto Google Classroom to introduce themselves.

If your child is entitled to benefit related free school meals and you would like us to prepare a packed lunch for your child, please call or email to let the school know. Lunches will be available to collect from the main school office at 10am.

We understand that some of you will still need to send your children to school, as you go to work. Please let us know by emailing office@southville.hounslow.sch.uk before Monday morning. We will still be serving school meals for those children that have ordered one.  Clubhouse will be open as usual.

We are expecting school to be fully open again on Wednesday – we will contact you again if this changes.

Thank you for your co-operation. I hope that you all keep well and safe during these unusually high temperatures.
